IMechE-MUJ organized a workshop on Quadcopters
IMechE-MUJ organized a workshop on Quadcopters on October 6th -7th, 2018 and was inaugurated by the Dr GL Sharma, Director, SAMM and Dr Rahul Goyal, HoD of Mechanical Engineering, in presence of Dr Ashish Goyal, faculty advisor, IMechE, which gave an insight not only to the technical aspect about the world of drones but also provided hands on experience to the students by giving them flying lessons and letting them physically build a quadcopter as well.
The Workshop was held by "Geeks of India" - A firm helping students develop skills they will usually not gain through learning in your average classroom. They encourage the integration of technology into the classroom instruction through the use of powerful and compelling practical content.
A total number of 65 students from different engineering branches attended the workshop over two days which included explaining the basic physics that go into the building the drones and the explanation of different components on the first day and building, calibration and flight time on the second day. A major emphasis was given on innovation and thinking out the application of drones instead of just the technical knowledge making it an interesting time for students as they got to express their ideas and receive inputs from industry professionals.
The workshop was a successful effort by IMechE-MUJ to help the students gain knowledge on the recent technological developments and we all wish to do the same in the future by organizing similar events.
