OVERVIEW

The three-year BA (Hons.) English program at Manipal University Jaipur covers a vast array of works from different domains of literature. The aim of the program is to create critical thinkers who are sensitive to the cultural and social changes taking place around them and have the literary training to go deeper into the cause and effect of the vivacious dynamism. The B.A. Honours program in English prepares students to develop and upgrade their language competence, gain training in critical inquiry and debate, and develop their literary sensibility through courses in Literary Criticism, British Literature, American Literature, Indian Writing, Women’s writing, Linguistics and Literature of the Indian Diaspora. Faculty members are doctoral supervisors on a variety of research topics, drawing on theoretical perspectives ranging from the traditional to the contemporary.
