OVERVIEW

The M.A. Economics programme at Manipal University Jaipur is a two-year postgraduate programme that provides advanced training in economic theory, quantitative methods, and applied economic analysis. The programme is designed to strengthen analytical thinking and develop the ability to understand and address contemporary economic and policy issues through rigorous academic engagement and applied learning. The curriculum includes advanced Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, Mathematical Economics, Econometrics, Indian Economy, Public Economics and Policy, Development Economics, Environmental Economics, Monetary Economics, and International Economics. Students can choose electives across broad areas such as Health Economics, Agricultural and Rural Economics, Regional Economics, Labour Economics, Game Theory, International Financial System, Economics of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and related applied domains. The programme also includes dissertation and internship components to strengthen research orientation and practical exposure.

The Department is supported by faculty members with strong research credentials and publications in reputed national and international journals. Graduates of the programme are well prepared for careers in research, consulting, financial services, analytics, development organisations, and corporate roles as economic or business analysts. The programme also provides a strong foundation for doctoral studies, NET–JRF, academia, and public services including the Indian Civil Services.
