Workshop on Design Thinking & Creativity

Interior Design Department, FOD, organized a 3 days workshop on Design Thinking & Creativity. The workshop started with the welcome address of Singh, HoD Interior Design, followed by of started at 10:00 am. 7th Feb. 2019, by Dr. Ghosh, Associate Professor, Jadavpur University. More than 120 students along with faculties from Interiors, Architecture, Management, Liberal arts and Economics department attended the session.

Dr. Ghosh briefed about the theme of the workshop DESIGN and THINKING. He also talked about 'Design Thinking Process' and how it's different He explained the same with various life and environmental examples and how our design activities incorporating environment and perception is the key to unfold the interesting territory which we all deals with all the time, even sometimes unknowingly.

The next session of immediately after the lecture. the Interior design Faculties took the participants to for observing the local settlements and to make them understand and study the finer aspects of sustainability, ecology and human behavior. He also motivated participants to create the ideation model of the scenario they observed. He explained them, how issues of Physical, Economical, Socio-Cultural and Environmental equality should be considered equally for getting the sustainable solutions.

Participants worked in groups & picked issues from the surroundings and tried to resolve them through During the last day all the teams presented their ideas with various models and solutions. At the end Dr. , how to Test their model and Document works post workshop. It was all the participants showed full enthusiasm. The workshop ended with student's presentations at about 4:45 pm. 9th Feb.2019.
