An industrial visit for B.Com II and III Year Students was organized by School of Business & Commerce to Akshaya Patra Foundation at Jagatpura Road, Jaipur. The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a non-profit organisation feeding millions of underserved children in India. We are committed to eradicating two crucial issues - hunger and malnutrition in India - by implementing the Mid-Day Meal Programme in government and government-aided schools. Carrying out the world’s largest NGO-run feeding programme, Akshaya Patra aims to not only fight hunger with nutritious meals but also bring children to school.

 

In the western Indian state of Rajasthan, It has five kitchens which currently feed 1,70,723 children in 2,672 schools. The Jaipur kitchen launched its operations in Jaipur in February 2004. This kitchen here currently feeds 1,02,352 children in 1,624 schools.

Students visited the whole plant. The supervisor told students about the whole journey of the foundation and its working. Students were also informed about the entire operations of foundation and maintaining of quality standards regarding mid meal of children. Mr. Sudarananda Das addressed the students with a motivational speech on how to control the mind. As well as he responded different queries raised by the students based on their observations about the foundation. The visit was coordinated by Dr.Gaurav Lodha, Dr. Tanushree Sharma, Shweta Taluka and Madhusudan Narayan.
