OVERVIEW

B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering(Data Science) trains engineering graduates to be skilled Data Scientists. The program introduces students to the various application domains like finance, business, and healthcare wherein data science can be used to make informed decisions. It is an eight-semester programme that helps software and IT professionals build the skillset required to advance their careers as Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Data Architects, and Data Scientists, among other roles. The programme covers fundamental to advanced skill and knowledge areas. The emphasis is on core data science subjects along with the related computational mathematics, statistics, and computer science subjects. The curriculum of the DSE programme is designed to provide students with the fundamentals of applied statistics, applied mathematics, and computer science that are required in the context of data science and its applications. Additionally, the DSE programme places a significant emphasis on students gaining hands-on experience through the use of practicals, labs, and the experience of dealing with issues that are relevant to the real world.

Programming Lab

The Programming Lab is a state-of-the-art lab used for Lab Experiments, Research, conducting Workshops and FDPs in various technologies such as Data Analysis, AI/ML, Deep Learning, MATLAB etc. The lab is equipped with 30 computer systems. The Lab's hardware and OS includes HP 200 Pro G3 22 ALL -IN-ONE PCs with INTEL CORE - i5 CPU - Processor, 500 GB HDD 7200RPM SATA, 4GB DDR4 2400 MHZ, 19.5 LED, Microsoft Windows 10 Professional (64 Bits) which are powerful and reliable machines for running demanding software applications. The Lab is also facilitates with a OHP for displaying presentations, programming panels and videos to a large group of students. Additional software and packages includes Oracle Virtual Box 6.0.0 + Ubuntu 16.04, Turbo C 3.2, Dev C & C++, and MySQL for student curriculum and research purpose. .

Design and Thinking Lab

The High end programming Lab is a state-of-the-art lab used for Lab Experiments, Research, conducting Workshops and FDPs in various technologies such as Data Analysis, AI/ML, Deep Learning, MATLAB etc. The lab is equipped with 5 GPU’s and 60 computer systems. The Lab GPU hardware includes AMD Ryzen 9 7950X , Motherboard: Asus X670 P , RAM: 64GB DDR4 5200Mhz, HDD1: 1TB SSD WD Blue, HDD: 2 TB BARRACUDA Seagate Internal Hard Disk , Graphic Card: ZOTAC GAMING GEFORCE RTX 4070 GPU 12 GB, SMPS: GIGABYTE SMPS 850W GOLD (AORUS P850W), which are powerful and reliable machines for running demanding software applications and machine learning and computer vision codes. The Lab is also facilitates with a Smart Television (65’’) and OHP for displaying presentations, programming panels and videos to a large group of students.
