Head, Department of Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering

Dr. Anees is an Associate Professor in the department of Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering in the School of Civil, Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering. He has been associated with Manipal University Jaipur since 2017. He has completed his master’s in Chemical Engineering from BITS Pilani, Pilani campus and obtained his PhD from IIT Bombay. His PhD thesis is in the area of mesoporous silica for chemical and biosensor development.

After completing his PhD, he worked as a Project Research Scientist at IIT Bombay in a collaborative project with Applied Materials Inc. Later, he moved to National Chemical Laboratory, Pune to pursue his postdoc in the area of monolithic materials.

He has published several research papers in highly reputed journals and conference proceedings. In addition, he has recently published two Indian patents. He has received DST’s Early Career Research Award as a Principal Investigator and POWER grant as a Co-Principal Investigator. He has been serving as a reviewer for many journals of high repute such as Journal of Colloids and Interface Science, Journal of Porous Materials etc. He also serves as a reviewer for proposal evaluation for SERB.
