OVERVIEW

The Department of Internet of Things and Intelligent Systems (IoT & IS) at Manipal University Jaipur marked its commencement in 2021. The department aims to make the students ready for 4th Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) which is fusion of advances in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), 3D printing, intelligent systems, genetic engineering, quantum computing, and other technologies. The department provides an intensive and skillful program to utilize the potential and the innovative passion of students. The scheme of the program is strongly aligned with the present and forthcoming requirements of the industries, and academia across the globe. Thus, it offers the ample of carrier opportunities to the students.

IoT & Project Lab

This research lab has been setup to skill the undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. students in IoT, Machine Learning and Deep Learning utilizing state of the art hardware boards and software as per industry standards. This lab helps students to enhance research activities in different application areas of IoT like smart home, smart village, smart healthcare, smart grid, smart agriculture, industry 4.0 and wearable IoT devices etc. This lab has high performance GPU (Configuration : Processor Intel core i9 , Hard Disk- 3.0 TB, RAM-64GB DDR4 3000 MHZ, Graphics-NVIDIA Corporation GA102 (RTX83080 Ti)) and PCs. This lab is also used to enhance research activities in different application areas of Machine learning and Deep learning like disease detection, Robotics, Bioinformatics, Healthcare, Agriculture etc.

IoT Fab Lab

In this Lab the students get to know about modern-day technologies (learning and hand on) and tools employed in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) education such us robotics, 3D printing and mobile technologies using Arduino and RPi applications. It provides a platform to access the environment, the skills, the materials, and the advanced technology. Experiments in this lab are designed and completed using three equipments viz Arduino, Raspberry Pi and 3D printer.

Research lab:Data Communications Lab114 -AB

The main objective IOT applications in Computer and communication engineering laboratory is to know the different real time sensors used to measure the different parameters and to control the different electrical devices from anywhere through IOT.

This research lab has been setup to fulfil the following objectives:

  • To skill the undergraduate and postgraduate, Ph.D. students in the IoT and Embedded system design utilizing state of the art hardware boards and softwares as per industry standards.
  • To enhance research activities in different application areas of IoT like smart home, smart village, smart healthcare, smart grid, smart agriculture, industry 4.0 and wearable IoT devices etc.

High performance Computing lab (115-AB1)

This lab has PCs with GPU setup and led By Dr. Vijay Kumar Sharma.

The details are as follows.

NVIDIA Quadro 600 GPU: - It is Built on Fermi architecture, the Quadro 600 GPU comes equipped with 1GB of DDR3 memory for improved transfer rates plus increased performance compared to the previous generation. The NVIDIA 600 GPU utilizes a 128-bit bus and memory is clocked at 800 MHz, resulting in a memory bandwidth of 25.6 GB/s.
