OVERVIEW

Mechanical engineering encompasses a broad spectrum of activities, ranging from designing intricate components to constructing large-scale machines and systems. Industrial sectors in which Mechanical Engineers have traditionally made substantial contributions include aerospace, automotive, chemical, computer and electronics, construction, consumer products, energy, engineering consulting and the government. In addition, the medical and pharmaceutical industries also present exciting opportunities. B.Tech. - Mechanical Engineering enables students to acquire the skills and the knowledge to be able to build machines that define tomorrow. With a well-stocked library and laboratory, students can learn the theory of Mechanical Engineering in-depth while also putting it to practice all within the campus. This program also allows lateral entry.

FACILITIES @MUJ

Machine Shop/Welding

TThe machine shop is equipped with all the facilities and supplies for machining, a process where parts are cut, fabricated, and finished to prepare them for use. In addition, three different types of welding machines are available to perform arc welding, gas welding and resistance welding in this shop.

CNC Lab

A CNC lab is a specialized workspace equipped with computer-controlled machines for precision machining. It features CNC milling, and CNC lathes workstations for design and programming. Safety measures, tooling, and materials are provided for hands-on training and prototyping.

Heat Transfer Lab

The Heat Transfer Lab serves as a dynamic and essential facility for studying the fundamental principles of heat transfer and its applications in various engineering and scientific disciplines. Within this state-of-the-art laboratory, students have access to equipment and experimental setups designed to investigate conduction, convection, and radiation heat transfer processes. Through hands-on experiments, data collection, and analysis, participants gain practical insights into heat transfer phenomena, enhancing their understanding of thermal dynamics, heat exchangers, and the optimization of thermal systems. The Heat Transfer Lab plays a crucial role in fostering a deeper appreciation for the role of heat transfer in real-world engineering applications and facilitating innovative research in the field.

EnBioMatRIC Lab

EnBioMatRIC Engineered Biomedical Materials Research and Innovation Centre (EnBioMatRIC) is esstablished for development of next generation biomedical materials, primarily towards management of bone trauma and for diagnostic biosensor applications.

NICOP Lab

This Laboratory was established from the grant received from Office of Naval Research Global (ONRG), Singapore on Hetero mental Oxides Nanostructures for Marine Coatings: Synthesis and Characterization. The total funding for this laboratory was approximately Rs. 1.5 Crore. And it is utilized by B.Tech., M.Tech & Ph.D Students for R&D Projects and dissertations.
