The Department of Psychology at School of Humanities and Social Sciences was established at Manipal University Jaipur, in 2012. It offers programs at undergraduate and Post graduate level along with Ph.D in Psychology.
The department aims at providing the psychology students with theoretical foundation and practical knowledge in the areas of organizational psychology, vocational and counselling psychology, clinical psychology, as well as the upcoming fields such as positive psychology, health psychology and environmental psychology.
The three year BA & B.Sc Honors degree in Psychology (6 semesters) will be an eclectic mix of pure and theoretical psychology as well as practical and applied psychology. Along with in depth knowledge of Psychology, the students are also made well versed with the SPSS in 2nd semester. The grounding for writing a case study and dissertation is in 4th and 5th semester. Training in communication skills, Research and paper writing are a part of course module, Exposure to counselling techniques is provided through workshops and seminars. The students are trained for psychological testing and assessment in a well-equipped psychology laboratory.
Practice as a psychologist, Research Associates, Educational Institutions, NGOs & hospitals, MNCs in HR, Counselors in schools, Entry level opportunities in fields of mental health, industries, In defence services as scientists in Defence Institute of Psychological Research-DRDO.
