B.A. (Hons) English at Manipal University Jaipur is a widely designed programme to study art, culture and ideas which have shaped the world as we see it and the world that will be. The study of literature in English at Manipal is comprehensively thought of and covers a vast array of works from the literary canons. The aim of the course is to create critical thinkers who are sensitive to the cultural and social changes taking place around them and have the literary training to go deeper into the cause and effect of the vivacious dynamism in the contemporary world. The creativity that students develop in their strong writing skills and the variety of genres that they closely study, make them relevant to multiple career opportunities as they venture out, armed with the language and critical knowledge of world literature. The programme gives deeper understanding of multifarious cultures along with training in literary theories imperative for analysis of literature. The courses facilitate exposing students to the ever thriving cultural industry and helps them get avenues for exciting careers in teaching, media, writing for film and T.V., creative writing etc.
Equipped with the latest digital and software technology, the advanced language labs are an amalgamation of software, specially designed sound cards and personal networks which promote seamless learning, and facilitate language acquisition from its rudimentary basics to advanced doctoral research.
