Department of Law, Faculty of Law is pleased to propose a Two-Day Workshop on “Criminal Justice Delivery System under New Criminal Laws: Scope and Interpretation” scheduled on 6th – 7th February 2025 in Hybrid Mode at School of Law, Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ).

The objective of the legislature in introducing new criminal laws in India is primarily to ensure the protection of public order, uphold justice, and maintain social harmony. As society evolves, so do the complexities of criminal behavior, necessitating the continuous adaptation and strengthening of legal frameworks. New criminal laws are introduced to address emerging threats, close existing legal gaps, and promote deterrence against unlawful activities. These laws aim to safeguard the rights of individuals while balancing the need for effective law enforcement, thereby fostering a fair and just society. Through legislative reforms, the aim is not only to punish wrongdoers but also to prevent crime, rehabilitate offenders, and ensure that justice is accessible and equitable for all citizens.
