About the Department of Law (Commerce & Management)

The Department of Law (Commerce & Management) offers specialized programs that integrate legal studies with business and management education. This interdisciplinary approach prepares students for careers at the intersection of law and commerce, such as corporate law, business consulting, compliance management, and entrepreneurship. Constituted as a department in June, 2023, the Department of Law (C&M) is engaged in various international and national academic activities including international guest lecture series, Erasmus+ faculty exchange, and International Panel Discussions, all by joining hands with various foreign universities across the globe including Universitatea Titu Maiorescu, Romania and University of Gdansk, Poland enhancing global legal education and collaboration.

About the Conference

This conference will delve into the approaches and strategies adopted to balance infrastructural development with the sustainable development goals and explore the scope of Alternate Dispute Resolution techniques to prevent disputes conflict and resolve it at the earliest and amicable manner whenever such disputes arise. By bringing together experts from various sectors, the conference aims to facilitate a rich exchange of knowledge and best practices, ultimately contributing to the advancement of sustainable infrastructure development. This collaborative platform will not only address current challenges but also chart a course for future directions in ADR, ensuring that infrastructural development proceeds smoothly and sustainably.

Selected articles will be published in the exclusive SPECIAL ISSUE of the following SCOPUS-indexed journals

Utilization of ADR techniques to address disputes arising from land acquisition for development purposes, including mediation in eminent domain cases, compensation disputes, rehabilitation and compulsory purchase orders.

Exploring the use of ADR to resolve conflicts in the development of social infrastructure projects such as schools, hospitals, housing, communication, and so on.

Submission Details

  • Preliminary notes of the Scientific Committee: A Scientific Committee is constituted to screen the abstract and full paper submissions. • Abstract and Full Paper Submission:
    • The abstract should contain maximum of 250 words with 5-7 keywords.
    • The abstract shall provide for the scheme of the research paper. It shall contain title, background, aim or purpose of research, methodology and a conclusion indicating the author's perspective.
    • We recommend keeping a short-running title of less than 40 characters.
    • The abstract shall also contain the title of the paper, the full name of the author/s, designation with institute/university name and email address.
  • All participants are required to submit their respective abstracts by the specified deadline., i.e October 15th, 2024, through the form mentioned at the end of this post.
  • Abstracts will be subjected to blind peer review and only those abstracts approved by the reviewers shall be submitted as full papers for the purpose of presentation at the seminar. Research articles should be of 6000 to 8000 words (including references).
  • We recommend structuring the article as follows: Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.
  • Authors should define their research questions and review all recent relevant literature.
  • Text of the paper: The text of the manuscript must be formatted as Font: Times New Roman, Font Size: 12 and Spacing: 1.5.
  • Footnotes: The footnotes must be formatted as Font: Times New Roman, Size: 10 Spacing: 1. Please note that the use of speaking footnotes and endnotes is discouraged.
  • Citation: Submissions must conform to the 7th Edition APA Style of referencing. Please refer to https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/references/ for more details.
  • Co-authorship: Co-authorship is allowed only up to a maximum of 4 authors (Each author has to register individually). The presentation of papers can be done only by the authors of the paper.
  • Plagiarism, Originality, and Confidentiality: -
    • The manuscript must be the original work of the author and free from plagiarism. All submissions will be subject to a plagiarism check. Manuscripts with AI content in any form will be summarily rejected.
    • The manuscript submitted to the journal must not be previously published or currently under review at any other journal/conference/book and should not be submitted to any other journal/conference/book while under review with us.
    • In case of any copyright violations, the organisers will not be responsible, and it is the sole responsibility of the author/authors for any kind of IP infringement.
  • Finality of Decisions: The final decision as to acceptance and publication of the manuscript rests with the Scientific Committee.
  • Registration Fees: The following registration fees will be charged from the participants:
    • Foreign Delegates $40
    • Indian Delegates: Rs. 3000
    • Indian students and research scholars: Rs. 1500
