Guest Lecture by Chinese Architects
A guest lecture was organized by Interior Design Department on Heritage Preservation. Wang Qian and Yi Ye, architects and Interior Designers from China visited Manipal University Jaipur. The talk was around their portfolios focusing on "Heritage Preservation" and was followed by an interactive session with the students. List of some of the projects shared were:
Urban development of Kunshan country in Jiangsu Province, China
Research on the damage of 5 historical Courtyard House and restoration design of their structure in Chongqing city, China.
Research on the wooden framework of Yanfu Temple in Zhejiang province, China.
Bondi craft Community center, Australia
Bamboo factory in Cambodia
The delegates were felicitated by Prof Madhura Yadav (Director SA&D), Ar. Sneh Singh (HoD of Interior Design Department) and Dr. Santosh Patil (Deputy Director - International Collaborations). The session was organized by faculty of Interior design, Ar. Sonali Jain in collaboration with Directorate of International Collaborations.
More than 40 students and faculties attended the session, from which they got an insight on Conservation and History as well as they were introduced to a different perspective towards design. The purpose of the session was to open doors to new realms of design world.
