Guest Lecture on Fabrication and Testing Process

Department of ECE organized a guest lecture by Mr. Shiv Narain (Technical Manager, Central Electronics Limited, A Govt of India Enterprise, Ministry of Science & Technology.

The following topics were covered-

1. About CEL

2. Brief Introduction of Phase Shifter

3. Development History and General Concept of Phase Control Module PCM)

4. Fabrication Process of PCM

5. Final Testing and Characterization

6. Application of PCM

7. Industrial Mantra "Cost & Quality and Continual effort for process Improvisation

The RF Phase Shifters of various types were discussed and emphasis was given on semiconductor or pin diode phase shifters and ferrite phase shifters. These Type of Phase Shifter in C and X-Band are developed and tested at Central Electronics Limited, a Public Sector Enterprise under the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. Phase shifter technology for phased array radars are used for less scanning and tracking. They can be used for multi target tracking also. The session was interactive type, and speaker expressed his willingness to help and support the ECE Department in its technological growth.
