National Workshop on Statistics and Optimization Learning - 2018

To celebrate the National Statistics Day at Manipal University Jaipur, Dept of Mathematics & Statistics, has successfully organized a five days national Workshop on "Statistical and Optimization Learning in Multidisciplinary Arena in conjunction with National Statistics Day" during 25 to 29, June 2018.

More than 80 faculty members, research scholars and students from different states of country participated in the workshop. Prof GK Prabhu, President, MUJ inaugurated this 5 days program and interacted with the participants from different research backgrounds as medical sciences, management, economics, business & commerce, science and engineering etc. gathered on one platform provided by MUJ. The main objective of this 5 days' workshop was to make aware the researchers about statistical tools and techniques of data mining by using software's as SPSS, Minitab and Essentials of R, that are useful in research and as well as in academics.

During the workshop the lectures and hands on training were delivered by eminent statisticians or speakers from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Central University of Rajasthan, Kurukshetra University, Panjab University, MD University and Aligarh Muslim University(AMU). This workshop was designed to be practical with lectures, examples and exercises. The last day of the workshop, June 29, 2018 was celebrated as the National Statistics Day to mark the birth anniversary of Prof. P C Mahalanobis, a renowned and eminent Statistician.
