The Department of Electrical Engineering, Manipal University Jaipur, in collaboration with the Manipal University Jaipur Teacher Empowerment Centre (MUJ-TEC), successfully organized a Five-Day Online Workshop on "Emerging Technologies in Electrical Engineering: Power, Reliability, and Intelligence" from 15th to 19th June 2026. The workshop witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 77 faculty members, students, research scholars, and industry professionals from various institutions across the country. The primary objective of the workshop was to familiarize participants with recent advances in electrical engineering, focusing on renewable energy integration, power system reliability, intelligent control, signal processing, machine learning, and advanced sensing technologies. The inaugural session featured Dr. Abhineet Prakash (IIT Bhubaneswar), who delivered an insightful lecture on "Decoupled Damping and Frequency Control for Virtual Synchronous Generator-Based Renewables," emphasizing advanced control strategies for maintaining grid stability in renewable-energy-dominated power systems. On the second day, Prof. Rajive Tiwari (MNIT Jaipur) presented an expert talk on "Voltage Stability, Control and Monitoring in Renewable Energy Connected Power Grid," discussing voltage stability challenges and monitoring techniques in modern power networks. The third and fifth sessions were delivered by Dr. Hemant Kumar Meena (MNIT Jaipur) on "Introduction to EEG Signal Processing and Its Classification with the Application of Machine Learning" and "Introduction to mmWave Radar with Signal Processing-Based Applications," respectively, highlighting the role of signal processing and artificial intelligence in biomedical engineering and intelligent sensing applications. On the fourth day, Dr. Suman Murugesan (NIT Tiruchirappalli) delivered an engaging lecture on "Detection of Unintentional Islanding Formation," providing valuable insights into power system protection and the reliable integration of distributed renewable energy resources. Each session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, encouraging participants to engage with the speakers and discuss practical challenges, research opportunities, and emerging trends. The workshop successfully showcased the convergence of Power, Reliability, and Intelligence, aligning perfectly with its theme by covering diverse areas ranging from renewable energy integration and power system protection to machine learning, biomedical signal processing, and radar technologies. The programme concluded with a valedictory session, where the Department acknowledged the contributions of all the distinguished resource persons and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the attendees. The Department of Electrical Engineering reaffirmed its commitment to organizing similar academic initiatives in the future to strengthen industry-academia interaction and promote interdisciplinary research and innovation.
