The Legal Aid Clinic, Faculty of Law, Manipal University Jaipur, organized a Sanitary Napkin Distribution Drive and Awareness Campaign on Feminine Hygiene in Dehmi Kalan, Jaipur, on 6 April 2026. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with Aasra Foundation Jaipur to promote menstrual hygiene awareness and improve access to basic sanitary products among women and young girls in rural areas.

As part of the drive, members of the Legal Aid Clinic visited the village of Dehmi Kalan and Mahatma Gandhi Government School, where sanitary napkins were distributed among women and school-going girls. The activity focused on addressing the lack of awareness and accessibility related to menstrual hygiene, especially in government schools and rural communities.

During the sessions, the team actively engaged with participants and explained the importance of maintaining proper feminine hygiene. They discussed how sanitary napkins are used, the need for regular changes and proper disposal, and the health risks associated with poor menstrual hygiene. Efforts were made to create a comfortable and open environment where participants could ask questions and clear their doubts without hesitation.

The awareness sessions also emphasized breaking social stigma and encouraging conversations around menstruation, which is often treated as a taboo subject in rural settings. This initiative not only facilitated the distribution of essential sanitary products but also contributed towards empowering women and young girls with knowledge about their health and hygiene. It reflects the Legal Aid Clinic’s continued commitment to community welfare, awareness, and social responsibility.
