Legal Awareness Survey on Women & Child Safety.

FROM 13 Mar 2026 TO 13 Mar 2026

Venue : Village in Dehmi Kalan, Jaipur @

On March 13, 2026, the Legal Aid Clinic at the Faculty of Law, Manipal University Jaipur, conducted a Legal Aid Survey and Community Awareness Drive in the village of Dehmi Kalan, Jaipur. This initiative aimed to assess the level of legal awareness among residents and promote access to basic legal information.

Students and members of the Legal Aid Clinic visited households in the village around 10:15 AM in the morning and engaged directly with residents through a structured survey. Before starting the survey, the team introduced themselves, explained their association with Manipal University Jaipur, and informed residents about the survey's objectives and the importance of legal awareness. The survey focused on evaluating residents' understanding of laws and legal remedies available in cases of abuse or violence against women and children. It also sought to determine whether individuals were aware of government welfare schemes for underprivileged communities, including financial support programs and social security benefits.

Additionally, the team collected information on financial inclusion by inquiring whether residents had access to banking services and bank accounts. During these interactions, the team provided relevant information about legal protections and government schemes, helping residents better understand their rights and available support. The survey ended at around 11:30 AM, and the members returned to the university.

This activity served as both a data collection exercise and a community outreach effort, identifying gaps in legal awareness while disseminating important information on legal rights, protections for women and children, and government support mechanisms.

This initiative reflects the Legal Aid Clinic’s commitment to community engagement, legal empowerment, and promoting access to justice for marginalized and rural communities
