The Martial Arts & Self Defence Club (MASDC), Manipal University Jaipur, organized Combat Sports championship on 29th August 2025 as part of National Sports Day celebrations.
National Sports Day is celebrated annually across India to honour the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand Singh, one of the greatest hockey players in history. This day is a reminder of the importance of sports in fostering unity, discipline, and fitness.
At MUJ, National Sports Day is marked every year with innovative events that highlight different aspects of sports and fitness. This year’s event, Combat Sports championship on National Sports Day Event-2025, focused on combat sports and martial arts, presenting the strength, discipline, and self-defence skills of MUJ students.
The event began with a welcome note and introduction to the significance of National Sports Day. Mr. Sanjeev Sharma (Sports Officer, MUJ) encouraged students to take inspiration from Major Dhyan Chand’s life and to remain committed to sports and fitness.
