Industrial Expert Lecture “Operational Excellence in EHV Substations through Maintenance, Asset Management, and Safety” by Ms. Tarali Deka AGM (Tariff), AEGCL, organized by EE Dept, MUJ

FROM 28 Oct 2025 TO 28 Oct 2025

Venue : Manipal University Jaipur @

The Department of Electrical Engineering, MUJ, organized an industrial lecture on the topic “Operational Excellence in EHV Substations through Maintenance, Asset Management, and Safety”. In this session, Ms. Tarali Deka provided students with an in-depth understanding of Operational Excellence in EHV Substations by focusing on maintenance practices, asset management strategies, and safety protocols essential for reliable power system operations. The talk emphasized how effective maintenance planning and modern asset management tools contribute to enhancing system reliability, minimizing downtime, and optimizing the lifecycle of high-voltage equipment. The session also explored the integration of digital technologies such as IoT-based monitoring, predictive maintenance, and data analytics in achieving operational efficiency. Ms. Tarali Deka discussed real-world case studies illustrating how proactive maintenance and risk-based asset management improve performance and cost-effectiveness in EHV substations. A significant part of the discussion revolved around safety management, highlighting procedures, standards, and best practices for ensuring personnel and equipment safety in high-voltage environments. Students were encouraged to adopt a culture of safety and continuous improvement as the foundation for operational excellence. The session inspired participants to view substation operations as a multidisciplinary field that bridges electrical engineering, reliability engineering, and management principles, preparing them to contribute effectively to modern power utilities and infrastructure sectors.
