BOARD OF MANAGEMENT

Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh has more than four decades of experience and is an accomplished researcher and academician. He was the Dean of AFMC, Pune, and Commandant of the AMC Centre & College, Lucknow. His contributions to military medicine, medical education, and healthcare administration are well established, He has served as an assessor for Accreditation Council (NAAC) and as Co-Chair of the FICCI Committee on Higher Education from 2024-26, contributing to national-level policy discussions and initiatives in higher education. He has also been associated with several committees like MCI, NBE, ICMR and as an advisor to the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). He has served as Vice Chancellor of Sikkim Manipal University as well as Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). He strengthened MAHE's global footprint through strategic international partnerships, fostering academic exchange, collaborative research, and enhanced international visibility. In addition, He served as Pro Chancellor of Sikkim Manipal University, contributing to its strategic direction, governance, and long-term development.

Gen. Venkatesh in this role of Chairperson of MUJ, will Chair the meetings of the Board of Management, Finance Committee and provide guidance and advice to the University. Gen. Venkatesh currently serves as Advisor to the Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG), continuing to contribute his vast experience and leadership to the advancement of higher education, healthcare, research, and institutional development.
