Workshop on FOSS

A workshop on (FOSS) Free Open Source Software tool was organized by the School of Computing and Information Technology, Manipal University Jaipur in collaboration with (FSF) Free Software Foundation on 13 January 2018.

The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Rajveer Singh Shekhawat, Director-SCIT. The aim of this workshop was to encourage the students to use the free and open source software tools to create projects and mobile apps. They covered the skill development and up gradation to enable localization the software in Indian languages, reduction of India's dependence on Monopolistic proprietary software vendors. Apart from that they focused the usage of open standards and briefed the benefits of faster technology development through collaborative innovation. Prof. Devesh Kumar Srivastava and his team coordinated the whole session.
