Tree plantation drive by Kishori club, DSW & CSE Department, MUJ

As part of the nationwide observance of Swachhata Pakhwada (1st – 15th September 2025), a Tree plantation drive at Mahatma Gandhi Government School, Bagru (approximately 5 km from MUJ) was organized by Kishori club, DSW, MUJ in collaboration with CSE Department, MUJ with active participation from students, faculty, and staff members.

Swachhata Pakhwada is an important campaign launched to inculcate the habit of cleanliness, hygiene, and responsibility towards nature among citizens. The plantation drive was undertaken with the vision of contributing towards a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment, thereby strengthening the message of “Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat”.

The event began with a brief address highlighting the importance of cleanliness, greenery, and sustainable living. Participants then actively engaged in planting saplings of various species in designated areas within and around the campus/locality. The activity not only aimed at increasing the green cover but also emphasized the role of trees in maintaining ecological balance, improving air quality, and contributing to the overall health of the environment. The enthusiasm of participants reflected their commitment to the ideals of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. By the end of the event, a significant number of saplings were planted, and arrangements were made for their regular care and maintenance to ensure survival and growth. This initiative successfully combined the spirit of cleanliness with environmental responsibility, spreading awareness and encouraging the community to take collective action for a cleaner and greener future.
