Expert Talk on Role of Technology: BIM in the Construction Sector

The School of Architecture & Design, Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ), in collaboration with the Indian Building Congress (IBC), Jaipur Chapter, celebrated IBC Foundation Day on 1st September 2025 with an expert talk on “Role of Technology: BIM in the Construction Sector”. The event commenced with a welcome address by Ar. Akshay, who introduced the vision and objectives of IBC, highlighting its role since 1992 in promoting sustainable, eco-friendly, and technology-driven practices in the built environment while uniting professionals from diverse fields of architecture, engineering, and planning. The keynote lecture was delivered by Ar. Saurabh Sharma, Associate Professor and Head, SA&D, MUJ, who spoke on the transformative role of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in redefining the construction sector. He emphasized how BIM enables accuracy in design, integrated workflows, project efficiency, cost optimization, and sustainable solutions, while preparing future professionals to embrace technological innovations. The session saw enthusiastic participation from students, who engaged in meaningful discussions, making the celebration of IBC Foundation Day both insightful and impactful.
