Departmental Consultancy: Field Survey for the Special Area Heritage Plan, Jaipur

The School of Architecture and Design, Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) has been designated as a Resource Person by PDCOR Ltd., under the Government of Rajasthan, for conducting a Comprehensive Field Survey and Map Generation in Three Chowkris of Jaipur's Walled City: Purani Basti, Sarhad, and Topakhana Desh. This initiative aims to support sustainable urban planning and development, ensuring alignment with Jaipur's status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The project encompasses detailed surveys of 100% properties to document land use, building attributes, and civic facilities, along with a 10% household survey for demographic and livelihood profiling. Economic activities, including industrial and commercial sectors, will be analyzed through stratified sampling. The collected data will be integrated into GIS to produce thematic maps, assess infrastructure adequacy, and propose development strategies. This initiative will also include population projections and regulatory recommendations for the horizon year 2047. >
