In view of the directions of the Honorable Supreme Court in the matter of “University of Kerala v/s. Council, Principals, Colleges and others” in SLP no. 24295 of 2006 dated 16.05.2007 and that dated 8.05.2009 in Civil Appeal number 887 of 2009, and in consideration of the determination of the Central Government and the University Grants Commission to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging, including any conduct by any student or students, whether by words spoken or written, or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher, Manipal University Jaipur ensures strict compliance on the prevention of Ragging of any form.
No person who is student of an educational institution shall commit ragging. The Supreme Court of India has ordered that "If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his/her explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him/her from the institution”.
No leniency will be shown to the offenders involved in ragging. All students are requested to note and co-operate in keeping our university and its constituent colleges free from ragging. Names of the officials with photographs and telephone numbers to be contacted in case of emergency are printed in the orientation handbook given by the institution.
Action against ragging will be taken as per MUJ Rules & Regulations.
