Workshop on European Funding Opportunities’

Jaipur, October 27, 2018. A seminar cum workshop focusing on ‘European Funding Opportunities’ was organized by ‘Directorate of International Collaborations’ at TSB Seminar Hall, MUJ. Professor Neeta Inamdar (HOD, Department of European Studies) from Manipal Academy of Higher Education was the prime speaker/ resource person for this seminar cum workshop. Speaking about the importance of EU scholarships and exchange program, Professor Inamdar states that EU is actively looking forward to provide scholarship to Indian students and also for collaborations in field of higher education and research. She descriptively informed about Erasmus+ which is the EU Programme for education, training, youth and sport.

Erasmus+ provides grants for a wide range of actions including the opportunity for students to undertake work placements abroad and for teachers and education staff to attend training courses. Erasmus+ provides a unique opportunity for teachers, headmasters, trainers and other staff of education institutions to participate in international training courses in different European countries.

The staff home institution shall apply to receive the grant to send its staff members abroad for training. Besides she also informed about other prominent scholarship programmes of EU such as DAAD, Uppsala IPK Scholarships, Amsterdam Excellence Scholarships, Chalmers IPOET Scholarships etc. In addition to this, a complete session was dedicated on ‘Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education’.

The workshop was attended by Nucleus Members of Directorate of International Collaborations along with other prominent teaching faculties of MUJ. Further, conclusive deliberations enable the participants to understand the scholarship and academic framework of EU nations and how to avail those opportunities for individual and organizational betterment.
