Scholarships, Seat Reservation & Financial Support (2018-19)

With the objective of encouraging meritorious students and academic excellence, the following categories of scholarships are offered to deserving students of I year of their respective programs. Students can continue to avail these scholarships in their higher semester by maintaining the requisite result. The quantum and number of scholarships will be displayed on the website every year.

A. Scholarships for Under-Graduate Students

 

1. TMA Pai Engineering Scholarships

 

Two scholarships in each engineering stream, restricted to students with top 5000 ranks in the MAHE – OET 2018, will be given on merit-cum-means basis as follows:

Students applying for these scholarships are required to submit copies of their parents’ (both mother and father) Form 16/16A/ITR of the last two years. These requisite documents are to be submitted every year.

To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 8.0 or above, every academic year, failing which the scholarship for the subsequent years will be withdrawn.

 

2. Scholarships for Lateral Entry (Diploma) / Transfer Cases

 

Scholarships will be offered to meritorious students who take admission under Lateral Entry (Diploma) / Transfer category as per the criteria given below:

        i. One scholarship in each engineering stream and one in each non-engineering programme, amounting to 25% of the annual programme fees,             to be granted on the basis of merit, provided the student has aggregate marks in excess of 60% / CGPA 6.0 or above, without any backlogs.

        ii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 6.0 or above, failing which, the scholarship for the subsequent             years will be withdrawn.

 

3. TMA Pai Merit Scholarships

 

        i. One Scholarship in each stream of engineering and one in each non-engineering programme, with 100% waiver on annual tuition fees, will be         given to the student with the highest aggregate marks in excess of 90%, in the qualifying exam.

        ii. One Scholarship in each stream of engineering and one in each non-engineering programme, with 50% waiver on annual tuition fees, will be         given to the student with the highest aggregate marks in excess of 80%, in the qualifying exam.

        iii. One Scholarship in each stream of engineering and one in each non-engineering programme, with 25% waiver on annual tuition fees, will be         given to students with the highest aggregate marks in excess of 75%, in the qualifying exam.

        iv. To continue to get the scholarships, the students should maintain a CGPA of 8.0 or above, failing which the scholarship for the subsequent         years will be withdrawn.

 

4. Rajasthan Merit Scholarships

 

One Scholarship in each stream of engineering and one in each non-engineering programme, will be given to students from Rajasthan domicile, with the highest aggregate marks in excess of 80% in 10+2 or equivalent qualifying exam. To be eligible, the student should have passed his/her 10th and 10+2 exam from a school in Rajasthan.

        * The student has to submit domicile (issued by the competent government authority) to avail this scholarship.

        i. The maximum scholarship given to each student will not exceed the annual fees of the programme joined, or Rs. 1 Lakh, whichever is lower.

        ii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.5 or above, failing which the scholarship for the subsequent         years will be withdrawn.

 

5. Scholarships/Seat Reservations for Local Region Students

 

For the benefit of students from nearby villages of Dehmi Kalan, Thikaria and Sanjharia and to promote education amongst them, the following are available:

 

5.1 Reservation of Seats

Two seats each, with 50% annual programme fee-waiver on the basis of merit, are reserved in the following programmes (other than B. Tech):

To continue to get the scholarship, the student should pass every year without any backlogs, failing which the scholarship for the subsequent years will be withdrawn.

The student has to submit domicile (issued by the competent government authority) to avail this scholarship.

 

5.2 Financial Support

Rs 500/- per month will be given to two students, other than those mentioned in 5.1 above, from each of the above mentioned programmes, who have 75% and above aggregate marks.

To continue to get the scholarship, the student should pass every year without any backlogs, failing which the scholarship for the subsequent years will be withdrawn.

 

6.  Scholarships for Sibling/s

 

20% fee waiver will be offered on annual tuition fee for each sibling enrolled in the university in the I Year in the form of scholarships. These scholarship will be given to those students whose family income is less than Rs.5 lakhs per annum.

 

Pre-requisites

        i. Students applying for these scholarships are required to submit copies of their parents’ (both mother and father) Form 16/16         A/ITR of         last two years. These requisite documents are to be submitted every year.

        ii. The siblings should be studying concurrently in the University (MUJ) and in the case of withdrawal/exit of any one sibling from the         University, the scholarship shall be withdrawn.

        iii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.5 or above, failing which the scholarship for the subsequent         years will be withdrawn.

 

 

7.   Scholarship for “Differently- abled” Students

 

Scholarships are available for “differently-abled” students whose family income is less than Rs.5 lakhs per annum.

The amount and quantum of scholarship shall be as follows:

Pre-requisites

        i. Students applying for these scholarships are required to submit copies of their parents’ (both mother and father) Form 16/ 16A/ ITR of the         last two years. These requisite documents are to be submitted every year.

        ii. The student has to submit the certificate of handicap issued by the competent state / national government hospital / board (as per the         guidelines issued by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India).The certificate has to be produced every year during         the term of scholarship.

        iii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.5 or above, failing which the scholarship for the subsequent         years will be withdrawn.

 

 

8.   Scholarships for wards of Martyrs of Defence Personnel / Para Military Forces

 

Manipal University Jaipur salutes Martyrs of defence personnel / para military forces. 20% fee-waiver is offered to the wards of martyrs of defence and para military personnel.

     Pre-requisites

        i. The student has to submit the certificate of martyrdom issued by the competent state / national government authority.

        ii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.5 or above, failing which the scholarship for the subsequent         years will be withdrawn.

 

9.  Scholarships for the wards of Single Mother & Orphan Child

 

    9.1. Scholarships for the wards of Single Mother

    One scholarship in each engineering stream and one in each non- engineering programme with 20% fee- waiver, will be given to                   students whose mother’s income is less than Rs. 5 lakhs per annum.

 

        Pre-requisites

        i. The student has to submit the certificate of single mother issued by the competent state / national government authority.

        ii. Students applying for these scholarships are required to submit copies of their mother’s Form 16 / 16A / ITR of the last two         years.         These requisite documents are to be submitted every year.

        iii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.5 or above, failing which the scholarship for the subsequent         years will be withdrawn.

    9.2. Scholarships for the Orphan student

      20% fee- waiver will be given to such students.

        Pre-requisites

        i. The student has to submit the certificate issued by the state / national authority as per the guidelines of Women Development & Child         Welfare department confirming the orphan status and affidavit by the applicant duly notarized given on a bond paper stating that the person is         an orphan/destitute.

        ii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.5 or above, failing which the scholarship for the subsequent         years will be withdrawn.

 

B. Scholarships for Post-Graduate Students

 

10. Tuition Fee Concession for MUJ Graduates

 

To promote and support MUJ graduates taking admissions in PG programmes in MUJ itself, a fee concession is offered as per the details given under:

11. Scholarships / Seat Reservations for Local Region Students (PG Programmes)

(Merit cum Means Scholarships for PG Programmes)

 

(i) MBA (ii) M Tech (iii) MA ( Applied Economics) (iv) MA (J&MC) (v) M Com in Financial Analysis ( vi) MSc- Chemistry/ Biotechnology/By Research

This scholarship is for the benefit of students from nearby villages of Dehmi Kalan, Thikaria and Sanjharia. Two seats are reserved in each programme and are offered on merit cum means basis. Scholarship amounting to 50% of the annual programme fee is granted. Annual Income of both the parents put together should be less than 7.5 lacs.

To continue to avail the scholarships, a student must maintain CGPA of 7.0 or above, failing which the scholarship for the next year is withdrawn.

The student has to submit domicile (issued by the competent government authority) to avail this scholarship

 

12. TSB Merit cum Means Scholarships – MBA Program

 

Ten scholarships are available for meritorious students with the following eligibility:

        i. Minimum 60% aggregate marks in all exams (10th, 12th and Graduation)

        ii. The student should be among the top 50% of the admitted MBA batch for that academic year, on the basis of his/her graduation         marks/grade.

13. Merit Scholarships for PG students

 

a) For M Tech students

Five Scholarships in each M Tech Specialization will be given to the students with highest GATE score. The number and extent of Scholarships are as follows:

Under the Endowment Fund Scheme, Scholarship of Rs. 15,000/- per month is provided to GATE qualified students.

 

b) For M Sc, LLM, MA (Applied Economics), MA (J&MC), M Com (Financial Analysis) students

Three Scholarships in each Programme will be given to the students with highest aggregate marks in the qualifying exam. The number and extent of Scholarships are as follows:

14. Teaching Assistantships

 

To encourage research, a few teaching assistantships of Rs. 15,000/- per month are provided to full-time research scholars for a period up to three years, besides a Contingency grant of Rs. 12,000 per year. Also, enhanced research scholarship of Rs. 25,000 per month are provided through endowment fund to selected candidates.

A few selected M. Tech Final year students may be awarded teaching assistantship of Rs.5000/- per month, based on the recommendation of the Department.

 

15.  Policies available for both UG & PG students

 

Financial Support for attending Seminars/Conferences

Financial aid will be given to Pre-final and final year students to present R&D work/papers at Seminars/Conferences of repute, as per the conditions mentioned below:

16.   Fee Waiver/ Scholarships under Sports Quota

 

  • Number of Seats under Sports Quota: Up to 1% of total seats in Engineering and 2% in Non- Engineering programmes will be allowed under sports quota (on qualifying the entrance test). Competent Authority will decide on allowing additional seats in exceptional circumstances. Unfilled seats of sports’ quota till due date of admission, will be filled by general category students.
  • Eligibility for Admission under Sports Quota: The candidate should either be a state Champion or should have participated in recognized National level/Inter- University level (AIU)/ International Level Sports Competitions.

The candidate should have cleared the qualifying exam for admission to the program applied for, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. A relaxation of 5% marks can be given by the Competent Authority.

Applications for admission under sports quota will be processed by a Committee constituted for the same.

 

Fee Waiver/ Scholarships

 

  •  30% fee waiver in tuition fee will be allowed, if the candidate is either State Champion or has participated at recognized National/ All India Inter-University (AIU) level sports competitions.
  • 60% fee waiver in tuition fee will be allowed, if the candidate has won Silver/Bronze Medal at recognized National/ All India Inter-University (AIU) level sports competitions.
  • 80% fee waiver in tuition fee will be allowed, if the candidate has won Gold Medal at National /All India Inter- University (AIU) level sports competitions.
  • 100% fee waiver of tuition fee will be allowed, if the candidate has represented the country at recognized International level sports competitions.
  • Applications for fee waiver under sports quota will be processed by the Committee constituted for this purpose.

NOTE:

  1. Only those games/sports will be considered for the above mentioned incentives/schemes, which are in the list of Indian Olympic Committee (IOC), Indian Olympic Association (IOA), Association of Indian Universities (AIU), School Nationals, MYAS (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports) and others.
  2. To continue to get the fee waiver, the student should maintain a CGPA of 5.0 or above, failing which the fee waiver for the subsequent years shall be withdrawn.
  3. The student would be required to participate actively at University level Sports activities.
  4. The student’s participation in various events would be subject to the prior permissions/approval.

 

17    Scholarships for students of Higher Semesters

 

In order to promote excellence in academia, 20% fee-waiver on annual tuition fee will be offered to such students in the order of merit.

One scholarship to the topper student of each stream of engineering and non-engineering programmes in higher semesters will be given. This will be applicable for one year, to every academic topper of that particular year, but if the student doesn’t maintain the academic result subsequently, it will be withdrawn and will be given to the topper of that particular year. A student can avail only one scholarship at a given time.

Pre-requisites

        i.  The student has to submit the copy of the mark sheet / certificates by the competent authority.

        ii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain the result of being the academic topper of that particular batch,             failing which the scholarship for the subsequent years will be withdrawn.

 

Please note the following in the context of all the above scholarships:

  1. A student cannot hold more than one scholarship concurrently from any source or supporting agency.
  2. Scholarships will be given only for the actual/minimum duration of the programme in which the student is enrolled.
  3. Grant of scholarships will cease in case any indiscipline case/matter is reported against the student.
  4. In case of any dispute, the decision of the President MUJ would be final and binding.
  5. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain the result without any backlogs, failing which the scholarships for the subsequent years will be withdrawn
