Scholarships Details

With the objective of encouraging meritorious students and academic excellence, the following categories of scholarships are offered to deserving students of I year of their respective programs. Students can continue to avail these scholarships in their higher semester by maintaining the requisite result. The quantum and number of scholarships will be displayed on the website every year. Last date of submission of application for all the categories would be notified after admission process is over.

 

A. Scholarships for Under-Graduate Student

1. TMA Pai Engineering Scholarships

 

Two scholarships in each engineering stream, restricted to students with top 5000 rank in the Manipal Entrance Test (MET), will be given on merit-cum-means basis as follows:

i. Students applying for these scholarships are required to submit copies of their parents’ (both mother and father) ITR / income proof issued by competent Govt. authority (in case of non-filing of ITR) of the last two financial years. These requisite documents are to be submitted every year.

ii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 8.0 or above, every academic year, separately, failing which the scholarship for the subsequent years will be withdrawn.

 

2. Scholarships for Lateral Entry (B Tech)

Scholarships will be offered on first come first serve basis to the students who take admission under Lateral Entry (B Tech) category as per the criteria given below:

i. One scholarship in each engineering stream, amounting to 25% of the annual tuition fee, to be granted on the basis of merit, provided the student has aggregate marks 90% or above / CGPA 9.0 or above in qualifying examination.

ii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student is required to maintain a CGPA of 9.0 or above every academic year, separately, failing which, the scholarship for next academic year would be withdrawn.

 

3. TMA Pai Merit Scholarships

i. One Scholarship in each stream of engineering and one in each non-engineering program, with 100% waiver on annual tuition fee, will be given to the student with the highest aggregate marks in excess of 90%, in the qualifying exam.

ii. One Scholarship in each stream of engineering and one in each non-engineering program, with 50% waiver on annual tuition fee, will be given to the student with the highest aggregate marks in excess of 80%, in the qualifying exam.

iii. One Scholarship in each stream of engineering and one in each non-engineering program, with 25% waiver on annual tuition fee, will be given to students with the highest aggregate marks in excess of 75%, in the qualifying exam.

iv. To continue to get the scholarships, the students should maintain a CGPA of 8.0 or above every academic year, separately, failing which the scholarship for next academic year would be withdrawn.

 

4. Rajasthan Merit Scholarships

One Scholarship in each stream of engineering and one in each non-engineering program (All the Hons programs and pass program of same domain would be considered as a single entity for the purpose of scholarship, ex. B Com (Hons) and B Com would be considered as single entity), will be given to the students from Rajasthan domicile, with the highest aggregate marks in excess of 80% in 10+2 or equivalent qualifying exam. To be eligible, the student should have passed his/her 10th and 10+2 exam from a school in Rajasthan.

* The student has to submit domicile (issued by the competent government authority) to avail this scholarship.

  • The maximum scholarship given to each student will not exceed the annual tuition fee of the program joined, or Rs. 1 Lakh, whichever is lower.
  • To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.5 or above every academic year, separately, failing which the scholarship for next academic year would be withdrawn.

 

5. Scholarships for Local Region Students

5.1 For the benefit of students from nearby villages Dehmi Kalan, Thikaria, Sanjharia, Bagru and Dehmi Khurd to promote education amongst them, following scholarships with preference in admission will be provided on first come first serve basis up to two seats with 50% annual tuition fee-waiver in each UG programs (other than B Tech). (All the Hons programs and pass program of same domain would be considered as a single entity for the purpose of scholarship and preference in admissions, ex. B Com (Hons) and B Com would be considered as single entity).

The candidate has to submit domicile (issued by the competent government authority) and other documents along with the application.

To continue to get the scholarship, the student should pass every year without any backlogs, failing which the scholarship for next academic year would be withdrawn.

 

5.2 Financial Support

Financial support of ₹500/- per month would be provided to two students (other than those have been awarded under scheme 5.5.1.) admitted in each of the above mentioned program, who have 75% and above aggregate marks in qualifying exam.

To continue to get this support, the student should pass every year without any backlogs, failing which the financial support for next academic year would be withdrawn.

 

6. Financial Assistance for Sibling(s)

20% fee waiver will be offered on annual tuition fee for each sibling enrolled in the university in the I Year in the form of financial assistance. These scholarships will be given to those students whose family income is less than Rs. 5 lakhs per annum.

Pre-requisites

i. Students applying for this assistance are required to submit copies of their parents’ (both mother and father) ITR / income proof issued by competent Govt. authority (in case of non-filing of ITR) of the last two financial years. These requisite documents are to be submitted every year.

ii. To continue to get this assistance, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.5 or above in every academic year, separately, failing which the assistance for next academic year would be withdrawn.

iii. Documentary proof of sibling is to be submitted.

 

7.   Scholarship for “Differently- abled” Students

Scholarships are available for “differently-abled” students whose parents’ income is less than Rs.5 lakhs per annum. The amount and quantum of scholarship shall be as follows:

Pre-requisites

i. Students applying for these scholarships are required to submit copies of their parents’ (both mother and father) ITR / income proof issued by competent Govt. authority (in case of non-filing of ITR) of the last two financial years. These requisite documents are to be submitted every year.

ii. The student has to submit the certificate of handicap issued by the competent state / national government hospital / board (as per the guidelines issued by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India). The certificate has to be produced every year during the term of scholarship.

iii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.5 or above in every academic year, separately, failing which the scholarship for next academic year would be withdrawn.

 

 

8. Scholarships for wards of Martyrs of Defence Personnel / Para Military Forces

Manipal University Jaipur salutes Martyrs of defence personnel / para military forces. 20% fee-waiver is offered to the wards of martyrs of defence and para military personnel.

 

 

 Pre-requisites

i. The student has to submit the certificate of martyrdom issued by the competent state / national government authority.

ii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.5 or above in every academic year, separately, failing which the scholarship for next academic year would be withdrawn.

 

9. Scholarships for the wards of Single Mother & Orphan Child

9.1 Scholarships for the wards of Single Mother

One scholarship in each engineering stream and one in each non- engineering program with 20% fee- waiver, will be given to students whose mother’s income is less than Rs. 5 lakhs per annum.

Pre-requisites

i. The student has to submit the certificate of single mother issued by the competent state / national government authority.

ii. Students applying for these scholarships are required to submit copy of their mother’s ITR / income proof issued by competent Govt. authority (in case of non-filing of ITR) of the last two financial years. These requisite documents are to be submitted every year.

iii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.5 or above in every academic year, separately, failing which the scholarship for next academic year would be withdrawn.

 

 

9.2 Scholarships for the Orphan student

20% fee- waiver will be given to such students.

Pre-requisites

i. The student has to submit the certificate issued by the state / national authority as per the guidelines of Women Development & Child Welfare department confirming the orphan status and affidavit by the applicant duly notarized given on a bond paper stating that the person is an orphan/destitute.

ii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.5 or above in every academic year, separately, failing which the scholarship for next academic year would be withdrawn.

 

B. Scholarships for Post-Graduate Students

10. Tuition Fee Concession for MUJ Graduates

 

To promote and support MUJ graduates taking admissions in PG program in MUJ itself, a fee concession is offered as per the details given under:

11. Scholarships / preference in admissions for Local Region Students (PG Programs)

This scholarship is provided in following programs for the benefit of students from nearby villages of Dehmi Kalan, Thikaria, Sanjharia, Bagru and Dehmi Khurd.

(I) MBA (II) M Tech – in all streams, separately  (III) MA (J&MC) (IV) M Com - Financial Analysis (V) MSc – taking all the specialization as a single entity (VI) M Arch – Landscape (VII) MCA  (VIII) LLM – taking all the specializations as single entity.

Preference would be given in admissions (with scholarships) up to two seats in each program (as mentioned above) on first come first serve basis on availability of seats. Scholarship amounting to 50% of the annual tuition fee is granted. To be eligible for this annual income of both the parents put together should be less than 7.5 lacs.

i. The candidate has to submit domicile (issued by the competent government authority) and other documents along with the application.

ii. To continue to avail the scholarships, a student must maintain CGPA of 7.0 or above in each academic year, separately, failing which the scholarship for next academic year would be withdrawn.

 

 

12. TSB Merit Scholarships – MBA Program

Fourteen scholarships are available for meritorious students with the following eligibility:

i. Minimum 60% aggregate marks in all exams (10th, 12th and Graduation)

ii. The scholarship will be offered on first come first serve basis for one academic year, on the basis of applicant’s graduation marks/grade and entrance exam score as per the following table.

iii. The scholarship will be communicated to the deserving student at the time of admission and offered after submission of full fees.

iv. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.5 or above in first academic year, failing which the scholarship for the second year will be withdrawn.

 

13. Merit Scholarships for PG students

a) For M Tech students

i. Under the Endowment Fund Scheme Scholarships of ₹15,000/- per month is provided to GATE qualified students.

ii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 7.5 or above, failing which the scholarship for the next year will be withdrawn.

 

b) For  MA -J&MC (II) M Com - Financial Analysis (III) M Sc – taking all the specialization as a single entity (IV) M Arch – Landscape (V) MCA (VI) LLM – taking all the specializations as single entity.

i. Three Scholarships in each Program will be given to the students with highest aggregate marks in the qualifying exam. The number and extent of Scholarships are as follows:

14. Dr. Ramdas Pai Scholarship for Ph D scholars only

i.  Only full time research scholars admitted in Ph D program are eligible to apply for Dr. Ramdas Pai scholarship.

ii. A person who is employed in the university temporarily under a project or a scheme or who enjoys an outside scholarship will not be eligible for this scholarship.

iii. Value of the Dr Ramdas Pai Scholarship will be 15,000/- in I year and 25,000/- for II & III year.

iv. In an academic year (August to July) total 20 scholarship will be given (10 in each semester) to selected full time research scholars.

v. If anyone availing scholarship discontinue the same, scholarship against that can be given to other scholars by following the procedure in the next semester.

vi. For scholarship, a candidate needs to apply to Director (Research) by an announced date. Director (Research) will then convene an arrangement and evaluate along with the committee constituted.

 

C. Policies for both UG & PG students

15. Financial Support for attending Seminars/Conferences

Financial aid will be given to Pre-final and final year students to present R&D work/papers at Seminars/Conferences of repute, as per the conditions mentioned below:

16. Scholarships for Sports Persons

Preference in admissions would be given up to 1% of total seats in Engineering (In Engineering it is applicable to the branches where off-line, direct admissions are permitted, total seats* are sum of the approved intake in these branches only) and 2% in Non – Engineering programs on first come first serve basis, subject to availability of vacant seats. These preference seats would be taken proportionate to their individual intake (next whole number in case of fraction) but limited to 1% of seats* in Engineering and 2% of seats in Non – Engineering. Competent authority may allow additional seats in exceptional circumstances.

Eligibility

i. The candidate should either be a state Champion or should have participated in recognized National level/Inter- University level (AIU)/ International Level Sports Competitions.

ii. The candidate should have cleared the qualifying exam for admission to the program applied for, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. A relaxation of 5% marks can be given by the Competent Authority.

iii. Certificates produced for participation in games would be considered for the last three sessions only i.e. 10th , 11th and 12th level for UG students and final year, (final – 1) year and (final – 2) year for PG students. In general, last three sessions’ (taking year of admission as current sessions) certificates would be considered in case there is a gap in studies / participation in games.

Applications would be processed by a committee constituted for this scheme. The preference in admissions and award of scholarships are subject to approval of competent authority.

Scholarships

a) Scholarship of 30% tuition fee will be awarded, if the candidate is either State Champion or has participated at recognized National/ All India Inter-University (AIU) level sports competitions.

b) Scholarship of 60% tuition fee will be awarded, if the candidate has won Silver/Bronze Medal at recognized National/ All India Inter-University (AIU) level sports competitions.

c) Scholarship of 80% tuition fee will be awarded, if the candidate has won Gold Medal at National /All India Inter- University (AIU) level sports competitions.

d) Scholarships of 100% tuition fee will be awarded, if the candidate has represented the country at recognized International level sports competitions.

NOTE:

i Only those games/sports will be considered for the above mentioned incentives/schemes, which are in the list of Indian Olympic Committee (IOC), Indian Olympic Association (IOA), Association of Indian Universities (AIU), School Nationals, MYAS (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports) and others.

ii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain a CGPA of 5.0 or above, failing which the scholarship for next academic year would be withdrawn.

iii. Also, to continue to get the scholarship, the student would be required to participate actively at University / Professional level Sports activities of the order at least for which the student has been granted scholarship.

iv. The student’s participation in various events would be subject to the prior permission/approval.

 

17. Scholarships for students of Higher Semesters

In order to promote excellence in academia, 20% fee-waiver on annual tuition fee will be offered to such students in the order of merit.

One scholarship to the topper student of each stream of engineering and non-engineering program in higher semesters will be given. This will be applicable for one year, to every academic topper of that particular year, but if the student doesn’t maintain the academic result subsequently, it will be withdrawn and will be given to the topper of that particular year. A student can avail only one scholarship at a given time.

 

Pre-requisites

i. The student has to submit the copy of the mark sheet / certificates issued by the competent authority.

ii. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain the result of being the academic topper of that particular batch, failing which the scholarship for the subsequent years will be withdrawn.

 

 

Please note the following in the context of all the above scholarships:

  1. A student cannot hold more than one scholarship concurrently from any source or supporting agency.
  2. Scholarships will be given only for the minimum duration of the program in which the student is enrolled.
  3. Grant of scholarships will cease in case any indiscipline case/matter is reported against the student.
  4. Preference in admissions and award of scholarships is subject to approval of the competent authority. This is applicable to all the relevant scholarships.
  5. Award of all the scholarships is subject to approval of the competent authority.
  6. Candidates awarded scholarships based on first come first serve basis would be communicated about it at the time of admission and the scholarship amount would be refunded on deposition of course fee.
  7. In case of any dispute, the decision of the President MUJ would be final and binding.
  8. To continue to get the scholarship, the student should maintain the result every year without any backlogs, failing which the scholarships for that academic year would be withdrawn.  In case scholarship of any student withdrawn due to not meeting eligibility criteria, the same would be reinstated in the subsequent years depending upon meeting eligibility criteria in subsequent years. The other terms and conditions of the scholarship would be applicable. This would be applicable to the scholarship awardees of existing batches also.
  9. Students have to apply every year for continuation of the scholarships on or before last date as announced every year. Failing which scholarships would be withdrawn for that academic year.
  10. Students have to submit all the required documents at the time of application, No document would be asked individually. The decision would be taken on the basis of submitted documents and no claim would be entertained afterwards.
