Dr Ranjan Pai is the young and dynamic CEO and MD of the Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG), the corporate holding entity of the group that focuses on Education, Healthcare and Research.
A medical graduate from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Dr Pai completed his fellowship in Hospital Administration in the United States. He began his career as the Managing Director of the Melaka Manipal Medical College in Malaysia, which he conceived as a world-class international medical college, further strengthening Manipal Global’s global footprint.
Dr Pai restructured the entire group in line with the global business environment, to meet, anticipate and take on new challenges. He has been instrumental in corporatising the group by bringing in expert professionals at the management level and has taken the Education and Healthcare business to impressive heights, attracting private equity capital in the process.
Under his guidance and leadership, MEMG started a stem cell therapeutics company called ‘Stempeutics’ which is involved in developing therapeutics from both embryonic as well as adult stem cells.
He has ensured that Manipal University remains a forward-thinking entity, focused on academic excellence. The curricula of all courses are industry-relevant, ensuring that students are prepared and groomed to be tomorrow’s dynamic leaders.
His brainchild Manipal Cure & Care (MCC) is the Group’s foray into retail, aimed at changing the face of Indian Retail Healthcare. MCC is India’s first holistic health and wellness retail chain. It provides superior clinical services with related product offerings, a mix of world-class products and services, under one roof.
Dr Pai’s vision and dynamic entrepreneurial skill, coupled with a strong focus on innovation and implementation, has enabled the Manipal Education and Medical Group to become a major player in the healthcare domain.
