Dr Praveen Kumar Surolia is the HoD, Department of Chemistry, Manipal University Jaipur, with effect from 1st November 2023. Dr Surolia is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Manipal University Jaipur. He is associated with Manipal University Jaipur since 2016 and served at additional responsibilities of Deputy Director and Assistant Director at Directorate of International Collaborations since the year 2019. Dr Surolia completed his doctoral studies from Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSIR), Bhavnagar, Gujarat in the year 2010. Prior to joining MUJ, Dr Surolia worked at University College Dublin, Ireland as Post-Doctoral Research Fellow for more than five years. Dr Surolia received prestigious “Sustainable Energy Award-Best Research” for the year 2013 given by Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, Ireland. Dr Surolia has published more than 45 research papers in peer reviewed high-impact international journals (SCI/Scopus) and has one European patent. His area of research includes third generation photovoltaics specially sensitized solar cell technology and photocatalysis. He has been invited for lectures in international and national conferences and symposia. Dr Surolia has grabbed external research grants of 139+ lakh to MUJ.
