The Department of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (DLASS), in collaboration with MUJ-TEC and Amrit Caregivers NGO, Jalandhar, organised a five-day online workshop titled “Balance in Motion: Mind, Body & Wellness in a Changing World” from 12 to 16 October 2026. Under the theme “Five Days. Five Dimensions. One Healthier Life.”, each day was devoted to one dimension of health: mental and emotional wellbeing, nutrition and metabolic health, digital wellbeing, physical health and independence, and social health, purpose and active aging. Through expert insights, interactive discussion and practical guidance, participants explored simple and sustainable ways to maintain balance and improve their overall quality of life. The workshop was free of cost and e-certificates were provided to all participants. A total of 56 participants attended (50 from MUJ and 6 from outside).

Objectives:

  • To promote a holistic understanding of well-being by linking physical health, balanced nutrition, mental well-being, digital habits and social connection.
  • To build awareness of stress management, emotional resilience, sleep and healthy daily routines, and of when and how to seek help.
  • To encourage practical, sustainable and culturally relevant nutrition choices, and to promote smarter and safer use of technology.
  • To highlight the role of strength, mobility, balance and bone health in maintaining independence with age.
