The Department of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Manipal University Jaipur, is organising the 6th International Conference on Physical Education and Sport Sciences (ICPESS-2026) in hybrid mode (online and offline). Centred on the theme "Role of Higher Education Institutions in Shaping India's Olympic Vision 2036," the conference brings together academicians, sport scientists, coaches, and policymakers to examine the role of higher education in advancing India's readiness for the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games, across physical education, sport science, technology, and policy.

Objectives

• Build an international, peer-reviewed platform on India’s readiness for the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
• Advance interdisciplinary research linking sport science, medicine, psychology, technology, and governance to athlete development.
• Deliver evidence-based recommendations on talent identification, coaching, infrastructure, and inclusive participation.
• Strengthen collaboration among academia, sports federations, government, and industry around the 2036 goal.
• Give early-career researchers and student-athletes a venue to present work and engage with senior practitioners.
• Produce published proceedings and edited volumes documenting Indian sport science's progress toward 2036.

Publication

All the accepted papers presented at ICPESS-2026 will be considered for inclusion in the conference proceedings.

Selected papers, (subject to double-blind peer review) will be published in Indian Journal of Psychological Science (National Association of Psychological Science), indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) of the Web of Science.

Registration Fees

Registration fees are exclusive of publication charges (APC), which shall be borne separately by the authors as per the policies of the selected journal(s).

* On-the-spot registration is available only for offline (in-person) participation, subject to seat availability. Online participants must register in advance to receive session access credentials.

• What it excludes: accommodation, travel, publication charges (APC)
