The session began with the Guest Mr. Tyler Thom, Ethnomusicologist, University of Denver,
US sharing his experiences with the audience about his musical journey in India and Abroad.
He talked about the different types of listening that people undertake ranging from normal,
musical, technical etc. types of listening and how the listening patterns describe our
personality. He talked about his expertise as a Tabla Player and performed for the Student in
the Auditorium. Another expert Mr. Jude Booker, Art Critic, University of London, UK
shared his experience about the Critical Approach that one needs to have in observing the arts
and literary works. The idea of contemplation and reflective thinking was encouraged by the
Expert among the young minds to break the set narratives and to think about parallel realities
that go unnoticed at times. The session was highly interactive as there were questions from
the Faculty Members, Research scholars and students in the audience.
