Computing is rapidly evolving and is integrated into every phase of business, science, engineering, medicine, and everyday life. The computer science and engineering department serves the needs of the private and public sectors for highly qualified computing professionals with a high-quality computer science education that enables them to make big strides in their careers. Students are prepared with not only a strong theoretical foundation but also with a robust practical knowledge in the computing field to make them industry-ready.
With a mission of achieving excellence in computer science & engineering education with human values, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering was established in the year 2011. B. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering was accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (Tier-1) in 2021.
The department is well equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories in all major domains of Computer Science and Information Technology with excellent hardware and software support.
The department provides a unique environment for the holistic growth of students, under the able guidance of experienced and committed faculty members having research specialization in Algorithms, Software Engineering, Databases, Computer Networks, Wireless Sensor Networks, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Information and Cyber Security, Image Processing, Pattern Recognition, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, etc. Students acquire creative, innovative, entrepreneurial and technological skills, which are required to make them profession and industry-ready.
The department attracts high-quality students from all over India and has an impressive placement record.
The department offers the following programs:
State-of-the-art Computing Labs: High computing labs powered by NVIDIA graphics card with GPUs (RTX3080), Deep learning Labs, and applied artificial intelligence labs with high-end configurations are being installed in department labs.
Well-Designed Curriculum: The curriculum has been designed as per the latest industry demands and its keeps emerging as per the requirement.
Choice Based Credit System (CBCS): Students have the option to choose program electives based on their interests. Program electives aiming towards eight specialization tracks in the field of computers.
Academic Flexibility: Students have the option to choose open electives from other domains (other than computer science) to enhance their skills and more scope for taking up case studies, projects, assignments, and vocational training including entrepreneurship.
Experiential Learning: Adapting projects based learning and incentivized research practices.
Global Exposure to Students: MoU signed with leading industries and academia to facilitate students with state of art technologies and to make them industry-ready. The Directorate of International Collaborations (DoIC) also facilitates collaborations and partnerships with institutions globally for academic strategies, Student Exchange Programs, Semester Abroad programs (SAP), student mobility (short or long term), and higher education opportunities. These all students' related international activities further serve the determination of enhancing academic standards to meet international dimensions.
Professional Memberships: Association with Computing Machinery (ACM), Computer Society of India, IEEE, and IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE).
Holistic Development of Students: Music, Literature, and Dramatics Clubs facilitate students to show their prowess in the cultural arena, under the able guidance of expert faculty. Technical Clubs like the Green Club, Robotics Club, IEEE Students’ chapter, IE(I) and ICEIT chapters, etc. allow the students to learn and update themselves with the latest technologies and showcase their abilities in various fields, outside their scope of the study.
Placements: Placements assistance (Mock Drives/Interviews), Internships Assistance, Placement classes by the expert team of Training and Placement.
The department offers specializations in several important and emerging areas for the CSE minor. A student can graduate with specialization by taking specific program electives from the Vth semester onwards. At the school level following specialization is offered to the UG students.
