City Tour for MBA students

TAPMI School of Business organized a 'city tour' for first year MBA students to Amer fort, Jaipur for "Enhancing the potential of Destination marketing", on 25th September 2018. A group of forty eight students were accompanied by three faculty members. The aim of the tour was to provide students a general framework of the principles about enhancement of destination marketing.

Destination marketing is a type of marketing that promotes a destination with a purpose to increase the number of visitors. The destination is the basic unit of analysis and management action. Destination marketing involves the focus of all tourism affiliated organisations in a particular destination, as a marketing strategy. Tourism destinations are one of the most difficult "products" to market, involving large a brand image over which a destination marketing manager has very less control.

Effective and integrative marketing and management strategies for destinations give a comprehensive understanding of the concept and scope of tourism industry in general and of destination marketing and management in particular. Destination marketing are based on situation and environmental analysis.

The global tourism environment is ruthless, so there is a need to develop a clear image, including the strengths and uniqueness of the product. On concluding, this trip was an integral part of the MBA program. It provided the students unique opportunities to learn something outside the classroom.
