MBA I Year Industrial Visit

The students of TAPMI School of Business, Jaipur visited Alwar on 5th and 6th of October, 2018 for an industrial visit to major companies like Ashok Leyland, Roca, and Havells.

 

On the first day, students got the opportunity to visit Ashok Leyland, which has a globally benchmarked bus body building facilities. Sprawled over 325 acres, this is an assembly plant for a wide range of products with an emphasis on passenger bus. Followed by a brief presentation about the company, the staff took the students to visit their plant where they explained about U-shaped chassis conveyor, hydraulic automated panelling, body lifting mechanisms, paint booths and a shower testing facility. The students were also given a brief presentation about their marketing strategies. 

The next day, i.e. October 6th, students were taken to visit the Roca plant at Alwar. Roca is an international brand for sanitary products. Students were taken to the actual processing plant that specialises in ceramic products. The staff of Roca gave detailed directory about designing, inventory management and packaging.

The next company visited was Havells India Pvt Ltd. Havells is a well-established brand in electrical appliances market at global level. The students were taken to the wires and cables manufacturing unit and also to their laboratories. Students got to learn about latest technology for production, labelling, packaging. Students also had the privilege to interact with the top management of Havells India.

The motive of this trip was to gain practical knowledge and have an idea about management strategies, through this industrial exposure, which would benefit them further in their career. The industrial visit gave a clear understanding to the upcoming managers who were quite enthusiastic about this visit. Overall, it was a great beyond the classroom learning experience for students.
