Workshop on Goods & Services Tax

School of Business & Commerce organized a workshop on "Goods & Services Tax (GST): Opportunities and Challenges" on 1st February 2018 at Old Auditorium. The subject was delivered by eminent speaker CA Ranjan Mehta (Proprietor-M/s Ranjan Mehta & Associates).

Prof. S.C. Sharma, Head, Department of Business Administration addressed the audience with inclusive welcome and offered floral welcome to the guest. The workshop was focused upon Compensation Cess, CGST, SGST & IGST. CA Mehta opened the layers for tax variants under the head of GST and highlighted the concept of Compensation, registration process under GST, taxable events and prominently the concept of 'Input Tax Credit'.

CA Mehta also discussed the concept of Reverse Charge Mechanism, E-way billing, anti-profiteering measures and handling. The workshop was interactive and he concluded that implementation of GST is powerful for the growth of a nation in way of solving problems through compliance committee.

At the end, Prof. Anil Mehta, proposed a vote of thanks to guest for sharing his rich knowledge on the topic. The knowledge and insights he shared are going to benefit students and faculty members. We wish to have more learning endeavors in the times to come on the debatable topic of GST.
