Dr Krishnamurthy Bhat joined MUJ in December 2024, previously he was a Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, MCOPS, Manipal. He did his B. Pharm from JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysore, M. Pharm from L. M. College of Pharmacy, Ahmedabad, Gujarat and PhD from Gujarat University.

Dr Bhat Joined MCOPS as senior lecturer in 2004, rose to various levels, professor since 2010. He has held multiple administrative and academic positions like head of the department of pharmaceutical quality assurance, coordinator of student affairs committee, vice principle. He successfully established and obtained USFDA approval for Manipal Acunova – a clinical research organisation of the group. Dr Bhat has received multiple research awards at national level. Presented more than 25 research papers in national and international conferences, delivered invited lectures/keynote addresses in more than 50 national and international forums. Published more than 70 papers in high impact journals. He has received many grants from national funding agencies and pharmaceutical companies amounting to more than 3.0 crores. He is a PhD examiner in more than 15 universities in India and a Peer Reviewer for more than 10 international journals and multiple funding agencies both nationally and internationally. Dr Bhat has visited Antarctica to expedite a project sponsored by Ministry of Earth Sciences, GOI.
