Professor and Dean, Faculty of Law

Dr Bharti is Professor of Law and has been a founding faculty at National Law University, Delhi in 2009, and has been there since. She previously taught at the Faculty of Law, Delhi University between 1998-2009. She holds a Master’s in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics before embarking on her legal academic journey. Prof Bharti has been Associate Dean (Academics) at NLUD as well as Director, Centre for Environmental Law, Policy and Research at NLUD. She has been the Presiding officer, ICC at NLUD besides being Convenor of several important Committees there.

Apart from diverse research articles published in various law journals, she has conducted several training programs for Judicial officers, including at Judicial Academy, Jodhpur and Delhi as well as for Parliamentary staff and international delegates at BPST (Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training), ICPS (Institute of Constitutional and Parliamentary Studies) etc. in addition to conducting law classes at LBSNA (Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration), Mussoorie.

Her international assignments include Paper Presentations and Workshops at Thimphu, Bhutan, Eskesehir University, Turkey, NUS, Singapore, and Cape Town, South Africa. She has appeared in various Television programs including at Sansad TV etc. extending her legal expertise on contemporary legal issues. She has also been invited as a Resource person in many Universities such as Delhi University, Jamia Milia, NLSIU, NUJS etc. on subjects of her keen interest such as Environmental Law, Constitutional Law, Women related laws, Mediation etc.

Prof Bharti has completed prestigious research projects with the Law Commission of India, Ministry of Women and Child Development and NGT. She has also been part of the Academic Committee and Board of Research Studies at eminent Universities such as NLUD, NLUJ, IGNOU etc.
