About Conference

School of Architecture & Design, Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ)is proud to announce International Conference on Waste Management: Reduce: Reuse: Recycling from 1st to 2nd October 2018 in collaboration with Sustainable Development Management Institute, Palaiseau, France (SDMI). ICWM-2018 will be knowledge sharing & building event and would provide a platform to scientists, professionals, Municipal bodies, researchers & academicians for the exchange of the most recent ideas, techniques & technologies in various fields of waste management. Waste Management comprises of collection, segregation, storage, transportation, processing, and disposal of waste to minimize its adverse impact on environment.

As per development channel in 2017; India produces 62million ton of urban waste annually, out of which 5.6million ton consist of plastic waste, 0.17million constitute of biomedical waste, 7.90million ton constitute hazardous waste while 15 lakh ton is e-waste. The total waste generation is estimated 165 million ton by 2030.

As per UN Sustainable Development Goal 11 (Sustainable cities and communities), one of main targets is reducing the adverse per capita environmental impact of cities, including by paying special attention to air quality and municipal and other waste management by 2030. India being a developing country is also looking forward for a refined approach towards waste management practices. In this scenario ICWM-2018, would act as a synthesizer of new ideas and sensitizing people about the importance of waste management.

Manipal University Jaipur warmly welcomes academic practitioners, researchers, scholars, scientists and professionals from government and non-government bodies for ICWM-2018.

Conference Objective

ICWM-2018 aims to address the significant issue of sustainable waste management through the promotion of safe practices & effective technologies.The Conference focuses mainly on modern waste management technologies and will strengthen the link of the applied research with industry.Renowned speakers from around the globe will attend the conference and will share their experiences.
