The Department of Psychology in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences under the Faculty of Arts & Law will offer the programme in M.Sc. Clinical Psychology. It is a two-year programme spread across four semesters and is based on the scientist- practitioner model of clinical psychology. It will be a professional degree, which will equip the students in the area of psychological assessment and therapeutic counselling. The focus of the programme will be on providing intensive hands-on clinical training as well as thorough theoretical foundation in the field of clinical psychology. The curriculum has been designed to give vocational training to the students in the area of psychological assessment and counselling. Besides they will also be trained in carrying out research and data analysis.
The objective of the MSc. Clinical Psychology program is to make the students competent in psychological research and be familiar about the scientific bases of clinical psychology applications, such as clinical assessment and psychological interventions. The specific objectives shall be:

Eligibility for MSc Clinical Psychology: Any candidate with a Bachelor degree from a UGC /AIU recognized University with 50% aggregate marks with psychology or any related course (Child psychology, psychiatry, educational psychology, counseling, psychotherapy, etc.) as one of the papers in the qualifying degree is eligible.
Admission Criteria/Procedure: Due to COVID 19, for the admissions 2021, the revised admission procedure will be followed. The admissions will be based on the candidate's previous academic performance (marks obtained in XII standard and Graduation) and Personal Interview. For the students appearing in the final year, the first two years' average marks will be considered. The candidates will be selected as per the merit list.
Interview Syllabus: Questions will be based on undergraduate level psychology covering the following topics: Perception and attention, learning, memory, thinking, problem-solving, intelligence, personality, abnormal psychology, social psychology, biological basis of behavior, motivation, and emotions.
