OVERVIEW

 

The Department of Chemistry started functioning since the inception of MUJ in 2011. The deaprtment offers B.Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc. and Ph.D. programme in Chemistry. 

 

The deparment also offers Engineeering Chemistry course to the B.Tech. students and Environmental Studies/Science courses to all undergraduate students of MUJ.

PLACEMENT OF STUDENTS

UG students studying for their masters in reputed institutes India and abroad viz., IIT Delhi, Central Universities, South Asian University, St, Xavier Mumbai, Trinity College, Dublin, National University Singapore, etc.

 

STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Dr Seema was awarded Ph. D Degree by MUJ during its 4th Convocation. Dr Seema had availed commonwealth Split-site Scholarships during her Ph D tenure and spent around 8 months at Israel under this scheme. She has been selected for position of Post-Doctoral Research Scientist at Istituto Di Chimica Biomolecolare, Italy in the research group headed by Prof Fausta in 2016.
  • Ms Kavita Choudhary received B. Sc. (PCM) degree from MUJ. She cleared JAM entrance examination (2017) and now pursuing M.Sc. (Chemistry) at IIT Delhi.
  • Mr. Prakash Chand final semester B. Sc. (PCM) student cleared JAM entrance examination (2018) and planning to pursue M.Sc. (Chemistry).
  • Ms. Mumal Singh, research scholars from the Department of Chemistry got an opportunity to attend SERB School of Plasma Devices: Science & Technology, sponsored by DST (GOI) from December 4-22, 2017 at CEERI, Pilani
  • Ms. Mumal Singh got 3rd prize for overall performance among 40 participants from various institutes of India.
  • Ms. Mona Vajpayee, research scholars from the Department of Chemistry got an opportunity to attend SERB School of Plasma Devices: Science & Technology, sponsored by DST (GOI) from December 4-22, 2017 at CEERI, Pilani.
  • Dr. Hemen Dave (first PhD from the Department of Chemistry and also from Faculty of Science, MUJ) was appointed for the post of Assistant Professor in Gujarat Forensic Science University, a State Govt. University in Gujarat in 2017.
  • Ms. Suman Swami was awarded President’s Gold Medal for research during the 5th Convocation in 2018.
  • Ms. Suman Swami has been awarded CSIR-RA for the period 2018-2019.
  • Ms. Suman Swami got the Bill and Melinda Gates Scholarship for GPDP 2019 at IHE Delft Netherlands
  • Ms Shruti Garge from BSc (Hons) Chemistry 1st Sem has stood the third winner for the Chemistry Olympiad organised by IIS University and conducted at Manipal University Jaipur on October 4, 2019.
