Date: March 02-04, 2022
An International Conference on 'Multidisciplinary Trends in Social Sciences and Humanities' organized by Department of Arts, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Manipal University Jaipur. The Chief Guest of the conference was Dr. Devdutt Patnaik, the eminent orator and scholar of religious narratives. Dr. Patnaik gave a scientific explanation of Indian theology. He apprised that Yagya is not only a religious but scientific process. The British, while translating, made it sacrifice, which is not its true meaning. In our narratives, Yagya means giving retribution. Nature gives us everything; Yagya is its reward. When this redemption is not given, it becomes adharma. In the present context we have to understand that we have to take a more scientific approach to our religious discourses.
Delivering the Presidential address, the Pro President of the University said that today scholars like Dr. Patnaik are doing a complex task of making the new generation aware of Indian traditions.
