Introduction/Objectives of the Club:
A Discussion on the contemporary issue of Demonetization, its possible effects on the economy etc. was organized on November 22, 2016 by the Club, where Prof. N.D. Mathur shared his ideas and enriched knowledge of students on the subject.
Every annual Budget of the country is very important to maintain its growth pace. A Discussion series on Union Budget 2017 -18 was held on February 4, 2017 and ‘Impact of Budget with reference to GST, Economy and Start Ups’ on February 11, 2017.
The Economic Trivia Club strongly believes that a university level quiz at MUJ would encourage our students to spend valuable time on internet/books to learn and keep themselves abreast of happenings in Science | Engineering | History | Geography | Polity | Environment | Music | Literature | Films and Media | Art & Craft | Economics | Sports and Current Affairs.
Looking at enormous development potential of quizzes, the Club under the auspices of Department of Economics initiated a journey of intra - university General Knowledge Quiz with a rolling trophy. The first two rounds were written rounds. The Qualifying Round held on 31 March 2017 had 24 teams. They were from Computer Science Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Commerce, Life Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile, Chemistry, Law, Information Technology Engineering, MBA at Tapmi School of Business, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Business Administration.
Quarter Final was scheduled on 3 April 2017 and 16 teams made to it. Semi Final round was conducted on 19 April 2017 and 8 teams contested for it.
Count down began for Final round that was played on 26 April 2017. It was the most awaited day for the month long event and Team Binary (comprising of Achintya Mohan, Sameer Singh and Prarbdh Ranjan) of Department of Computer Science & Engineering emerged victorious
