When students spend a major part of their lives dedicated to academics and acquiring degrees, they are wont to hope that all the hard work translates into a fulfilling, enjoyable career in the long run. It is with this view that parents, today, prefer enrolling their children in institutions that offer assured, reliable placements at the end of the course.
With an aim to keep students’ interests central to everything we do, Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) has one of the biggest placement cells offered by any institution in the country. It is a matter of great pride for us when companies seek our students to recruit at our campus. We look at it as a testimony to the quality of education we offer – we make students industry-ready and increase their employability factor, making them very attractive as prospective talent for companies. Today, some of the biggest brands in India find our ex-students to be valuable assets in their teams, thanks to their hard work and MUJ’s holistic approach to education.
The number of companies that come to our campus each year only increases; students can expect to be interviewed by the likes of top companies such as Amazon India, Texas Instruments, Capgemini, IBM, HSBC, Dell, Mindtree, SAP Labs, Dentsu International, Asahi India, the Indian Armed Forces, and several others across industries like automobile, artificial intelligence, pharma, FMCG, textile, advertising, media and biotechnology. In fact, 56% of students have already been placed for the 2017-2018 cycle, with that number expected to rise to about 80% before the end of the placement cycle.
Students can look forward to over 120 top companies gracing the campus this year, either for direct placements or to offer internships followed by permanent jobs. The number of companies will only increase with each passing academic year, as has been the encouraging pattern so far.
While MUJ has a central Training and Placement Cell, each department has its own Faculty Placement Co-ordinator, as well. Starting this year, MUJ has introduced the Employability Enhancement Training (EET) for its 2018 batch. Students eligible for placement are rigorously trained for aptitude, communication and technical skills by in-house and external experts. This is apart from the extensive group discussions and mock interviews conducted under the program. We find that our students have found a boost in their confidence and employability thanks to this training, making them ready to tackle campus placements with new vigour.
MUJ believes in equipping all pupils to face the real world through education and knowledge. Perhaps it is our dedication to students’ success that reflected Amazon’s trust in us; the brand hired an MUJ-ite for an INR 27 lakh per annum package last year!
However, we will only rest when all MUJ students dream big and believe they can reach for the stars. Till then, we will continue to work tirelessly to help them achieve everything they have ever dreamed of!
