Automotive industry is witnessing disruption through shared and connected mobility through electric and autonomous vehicles. Strict govt. regulations are enforcing transition towards cleaner, efficient and alternative-fuel vehicles.
Dept. of Automobile Engineering is imparting quality education through industry specific curriculum since 2012. The 4-year B. Tech program equips the student to skillfully meet the changing requirements of rapidly transforming and highly interdisciplinary automotive sector.

Thermal Engineering, Vibration, CAD, IC Engines, Material Testing, Metrology, Vehicle Transmission, CNC, Surveying, Geology, Fluid Machinery, Soil Mechanics, Highway and Concrete Technology, Environmental Engineering, Basic Work Shop and Machine Shop UC, EMI, Pneumatic & Hydraulics Lab.
The areas of research include: • Computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer • Mathematical modelling of IC engine • Micro machining • Material Science
The lab is equipped to provide comprehensive vehicle service and experiential learning through latest equipment such as 3D wheel aligner, wheel balancing machine, Fuel Injection Pump test bench, computerized vehicle AC gas recovery machine, two-post lift, AVL-444 Gas Analyzer, AVL-437C smoke test meter, and other tools.
The lab is equipped with Electric Hybrid Vehicle simulator (De Lorenzo), electric rickshaw, electric 2-wheeler, auto-electrical test bench, battery load tester, BOSCH BAT-131 battery tester, battery load tester, digital oscilloscope, starter motors (12V, 24V), alternators (12V, 24V), demonstration panel of vehicle sensors, multi-brand BOSCH On-Board-Diagnostic kit and other latest equipment.
The lab consists of 2-stroke single cylinder engine, 4-stroke 4-cylinder diesel engine, 4-stroke-4cylinder petrol engines for experiential learning through assembly & dismantling, cut-section models of all types of engines and fuel injection pumps, lubrication circuit,
The labs are equipped with Two-wheeler Chassis Dynamometer, KTM-390 Duke bike, working models of vehicle chassis components, automatic & semi-automatic gearboxes, cut-section models of drum brake, disc brake, and other equipment for better learning and hands-on training of students
the department include COMSOL Multiphysics, Creo, CATIA, ANSYS, ABACUS, MATLAB, Minitab and AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, for faculty and aspiring students to pursue their research and project work
RPM Club and Road Safety Club Exciting events such as Auto Show, Rally Sprint Car races, Road Safety awareness events, GoKart races.
Department assists the students to secure placements and internships in reputed OEMs and ancillary companies in automotive industry. Students have been placed in the following companies.
