About Dr. Rajveer Singh Shekhawat

Dr. Rajveer has over 34 years of experience in applied and Industrial R&D. After completing his graduation from BITS, Pilani followed by a brief stint as an Aeronautical Engineer at HAL, he joined CEERI (a national research institute of CSIR, Govt of India) as a Scientist in 1983. Here he devoted most of his time working on Real Time LANs, Distributed Control Systems, Fieldbuses, and Digital Mapping Systems for varied applications. He reared a passion for investigating soft computing in modeling complex systems for evolving decision and control strategies and eventually submitted his doctoral work in the same field at BITS. He also extended this research theme to many Indo-German collaborative projects as the Indian principal investigator with Uni Bremen, KFA Juelich and FHG Bonn. Spatial DSS, GIS for network analysis and Image processing was then his areas of investigations for many DST funded projects. He delved in design of embedded systems for a few years and then left CEERI to join industrial R&D at Secure Meters (SML) where he led efforts to design very low power, low cost ultrasonic meters. Recently, smart energy systems have been the area of his investigation and implementation for strategic programs in SML.

His interests are in the fields of Low Power Networked Embedded Systems, Real-time Networking, Soft Computing methods (for Decision and Control), GIS and Spatial DSS and Smart Energy Systems. He seeks innovation thru design (modelling and simulation) and developing first time right products and systems.

Before joining Manipal Group he worked with Secure Meters as General Manager in R&D from Feb 2006 and prior to this he was associated with Central Electronics Engg Research Institute (CEERI), Pilani as Dy Director and was Aeronautical Engineer at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
