OVERVIEW
Faculty of Design at Manipal University Jaipur consists of two Schools: School of Architecture and Design (SA&D), and School of Planning and Design (SP&D), which offer a range of programs in the related disciplines of arts, architecture, design, and planning. With programs in architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, fashion design and applied arts, the Faculty is a vibrant space of learning in an interdisciplinary environment, which is well supported by infrastructural and intellectual capital. The Faculty of Design is focused on leading the way in research led teaching; multidisciplinarity in design discourse, research, and projects; as well as innovations in pedagogy aimed at providing an excellent student learning experience. The Faculty prides itself on talent acquisition from top higher education institutions, and in retaining passionate and rigorous academics who have industry experience as well as research acumen.
The Faculty aims to foster creativity and innovation for an intellectually satisfying learning environment as well as to establish MUJ as a globally preferred destination for students, faculty, researchers, and other stakeholders. It is also interested in leading digital paradigms in design education that are truly embodied, cutting edge, and non-dogmatic. It is interested in developing and sustaining productive collaborations between institutional, government, and industry stakeholders. The Faculty of Design is also interested in developing international and national institutional partnerships for the benefit of students, as well as the Faculty at large. The Faculty of Design aims to provide design education that is not generic: it aims to provide education that is contemporary, contextual, and future orientated; and that is globally positioned but also locally significant.
