The DOR plays a pivotal role in facilitating, guiding, and promoting the university's research initiatives.
Our Directorate is dedicated to maintain a supportive, collaborative, and interdisciplinary research environment, the Directorate empowers researchers to explore, innovate, and make impactful contributions across various fields, including science, engineering, humanities, and social sciences.
The key activities of the Directorate of Research include:
- Promoting Faculty and Student Engagement:Encouraging active participation in research activities through initiatives such as Faculty Award Incentives for Research (FAIR) and Publication and Research Award Incentive for Students to Excel (PRAISE).
- Enhancing Research Quality: We provide financial support through Seed/Endowment Grants for Research Quality Enhancement to faculty members working on projects aimed at elevating the quality of research conducted at MUJ.
- Supporting Ph.D. Scholars: We offer scholarships ( Dr. Ramdas Pai Scholarship, Teaching Assistantship etc.) and comprehensive coordination of Ph.D.-related activities to research scholars, ensuring a conducive environment for their academic and research pursuits.
- Strengthening Research Collaborations: At MUJ we establish strong institutional and external connections through initiatives such as Visiting Scientist Fellowships, Short-term Research Fellowships, Faculty-Industry Immersion Fellowships, and Student Travel Grants for International Internships, facilitating collaborative research and exposure to diverse environments.
- Protecting Intellectual Property: Facilitating the protection and promotion of intellectual property generated by scholars and researchers, ensuring recognition and safeguarding of innovative ideas with potential societal impact.
- Promoting Academic Integrity: Maintaining a comprehensive Academic Policy on Plagiarism in alignment with national and international academic integrity standards, reflecting the university's commitment to upholding academic honesty.
- Promoting Cross-Sectoral Partnerships: Maintaining an effective approach of consulting policy to facilitate external engagement through knowledge and technology transfer, driving transformative effects in both industry and society.
Additionally, the Directorate oversees the management of centralized research facilities at MUJ, including the Sophisticated Research Facility (SAIF) and Central Research Facility (CAF). These state-of-the-art resources are available to all university researchers, regardless of their academic discipline. These high-end facilities serve as the backbone for a wide range of research projects across science and engineering departments, enabling scholars to conduct cutting-edge scientific research.

We encourage to establishment and strengthening of collaborations with national and international institutions, industries, and research organizations to create a network that enhances the impact of the MUJ researchendeavors. Research Promotion Policy
At the 18th Board of Management Meeting of April 03, 2018 several incentives were approved as a part of our Research Promotion Policy.
One of the primary objectives of Manipal University Jaipur is to facilitate and contribute to foster research in all disciplines. Our expected outcomes from these incentives are to increase number and quality of; publications, award of doctoral degrees and research grants. Our Policy strives to foster an excellent research environment at MUJ and implement research policies in accordance with UGC and MHRD guidelines.
MUJ is dedicated to streamline the research mandate, thrust areas, short- and long-term strategies for accomplishment of its research goals. The approved incentives under this policy develop an encouraging ecosystem for promotion of excellence in research and innovation for faculty members, research scholars and students of Manipal University Jaipur.
